SmartZip recognized in Forbes' 'Industry Cloud' landscape

April 2, 2014 by in Articles

A recent Forbes article recognized SmartZip's business strategy as that of a Cloud Company, which recently has been proven to be more effective than the alternative Horizontal Company strategy.

This determination was based off of what Emergence Capital calls "The Five Hallmarks Of An Industry Cloud Company." In simpler words, Emergence Capital has identified five areas of criteria that distinguish which start-up companies are considered a "Industry Cloud" rather than a "Horizontal Company."

The criteria that differentiates a "Industry Cloud" from a "Horizontal Company" are the following:

  1. Talent Trifecta
  2. Deep Data
  3. Referral Revenues
  4. Massive Market Share
  5. Layer Cake Product Strategy

Based on these five areas of criteria and by using a more focused approach, SmartZip was acknowledged to be part of the new industry cloud sector. Emergence predicts that the Industry Cloud Landscape will surge tremendously in the coming years due to the new advancements in mobile and consumer technology.
