Friday Finds: Modern Family and the NAR team up, Gary Vee digs into real estate, summer staging tips

If you were watching Modern Family last night, you likely cheered when lovable-but-dorky real estate agent Phil Dunphy shared -- emphatically -- what it means to be a REALTOR. Even Gloria’s winky chiding couldn’t bring down Phil’s enthusiasm for “the brotherhood.” As it turns out, the call-out was a product placement deal between Modern Family’s production company and the National Association of REALTORS®. Check out the behind-the-scenes details of this first placement, which is the kickoff of a year-long NAR campaign.

As you start to work on your summer seller leads, don’t forget to focus on the importance of staging for the season. Here are some insider tips that will help brighten any house, even those with subpar natural light.

And of course, summer staging extends to the home’s exterior and outdoor space. Whether your real estate seller lead has a massive formal dining room or owns a more modest house, be sure to add an outdoor dining space so buyers see they have plenty of options when it comes time to entertain.

Whether you need to fill a gap in your business, or are just curious about the next big thing in real estate, we recommend taking a peek at the 95 Tech Startups Reshaping Residential Real Estate. We’re honored to be included on the list among so many esteemed companies.

Speaking of high honors, we’re excited to see such a diverse crowd in the NAR REach Class of 2016. The Real Daily just broke out what makes each company a perfect choice for this accelerator program.

When is a lead not really a lead? When it comes time to convert, it’s important to understand the nuanced language that different contacts use. Here’s a great article on classifying leads. We especially love the idea of breaking out “suspects” from “prospects.”

Classifying is one thing, but what if you have a large pool of leads or a massive database and you can’t get to everyone? We recently wrote about how predictive lead scoring will be a game-changer for agents with large databases or farms.

If you want a business reboot that goes beyond lead generation or conversion, we recommend you start by watching today’s #AskGaryVee webinar, which was hosted by Lab Coat Agents. It’s hard to match Gary’s candor or energy, but in just 25 minutes, we promise you’ll be fired up and ready to change your business (and your life).
